Tales from the Open Road: A Thompson-Okanagan Weekend

Summer goes by in a flash, so sip and suntan while you still can.

Thompson-Okanagan is the perfect spot for a girls’ getaway—oenophiles, foodies and R&R seekers will adore every moment of this summer itinerary. Take the “Corkscrew Drive” from the town of Okanagan Falls, one of British Columbia’s most exciting wine regions overlooking gorgeous views of Skaha and Vasuex Lake, and taste along the way. Head up to West Kelowna to check out the distinctive bell tower that will guide you to Mission Hill Family Estate Winery—be sure to try their Legacy Series of high-end wines.

Raise a glass of rosé bubbly at Summerhill Pyramid Winery and seek the mystical pyramid where the wines are aged to perfection. Finally, wind down at the newly restored, century-old Naramata Inn & Spa before getting some much-deserved zzz’s at the elegant new Summerland Resort Hotel on the waterfront.

The hardest part of this vacation is going home.
