Long in the Tooth

Triple digit dinner and drink bills getting old? Get in on the Irish Heather's new Long Table Series.

Set at the 40-foot communal table in the Salty Tongue space next door and starting promptly at 6:30 p.m., the dinner series ($12/per person) serves up a pint and a full plate of food fixed by the Irish Heather's new executive chef. The night we went it was succulent roasted suckling pig with an apple-rosemary tart and frisee salad alongside a cold glass of Strongbow. Other nights have paired Guinness with braised beef short ribs and R&B Red Devil Ale with Cornish game hen.

The 42 seats available per night are booking up well in advance, so reserve yours before the brew runs out.

Long Table Series runs Monday through Wednesday every week during the summer at the Irish Heather, 210 Carrall St., Vancouver, 604-688-9779, www.irishheather.com, to reserve email sean@irishheather.com
