Play Room

FEBRUARY 16, 2009

Play Room

Rubber ducky wallpaper and plastic chairs may work in a pediatrician's waiting room (just like earth tones and oak are perfect for a home office), but kids need room to grow and play—and mommy needs to keep her chic aesthetic intact.

Just like the grown-up decorating playground, Pottery Barn Kids is opening its first location in Western Canada. To celebrate, you and your family are invited to the opening party on February 21! Clancy the mascot will be wowing the crowds, plus a face painter (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and a balloon artist (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) will keep the wee ones entertained while you browse the innovative furniture and kid-friendly accent pieces.

Fifteen per cent of the day's sales will be donated to Arts Umbrella, so when little Piper and Beckett ask for matching desks (to write their mini memoirs on, of course), tell Dad it's for a great cause.

Doors open at 10 a.m., Pottery Barn Kids, 2935 Granville St., Vancouver, 604-638-7974, see design ideas at www.potterybarnkids.ca
