Forget Baby Einstein: we want a Mini Monet!

Get your kidlets’ artistic imaginations running wild with the ingenious activity books by Japanese illustrator Taro Gomi.

In the “Doodles” book, the stylish and fun illustrations are ready to be embellished by your budding Jimmy Choo, who gets to draw 100 pairs of shoes on a centipede.

Elsewhere kids are asked to “draw unusual patterns on these giraffes” and “quick, put out the fire by drawing water!” Making paint come out of a spray can, decorating a house, catching fish in a net, drawing spotlights for singers and footsteps for animals…it’s 400+ pages of old-fashioned fun.

Warning: You might just find yourself picking up a pencil crayon, too.

“Doodles” and “Scribbles” activity books are available ($24.95) at Dandelion Kids, 1206 Commercial Dr., 604-676-1862. Shop at www.dandelionkids.ca
