There is certainly no shortage of eye candy on South Beach, but the new Standard Hotel (outcrop of André Balaz’s LA and New York properties) is well, setting new standards away from the South Beach fray on Biscayne Bay.

This recently launched Mecca of seventies décor is the perfect getaway for those who love to spa, suntan, and sip cocktails by the adults-only pool. And who doesn’t?

The comfy, high-end beach shack-style rooms have flat screen TVs, stereos and a private (curtained) deck—some even with a claw foot tub outside to soak in after a long day of lounging.

Enjoy mud baths or body wraps in the spa or on the pool deck and wake up to yoga on the dock. If you’re lucky you might even see the resident dolphins playing in the bay.

Choose from rooms spanning from frugal (“The Missionary”) to lavish (“Full Spread”) and mind the sexual double entendres—this is Miami after all.

Rooms from US$125. www.standardhotel.com
