What’s the difference between Vancouver
and yogourt? Yogourt has culture, the old joke goes. But we know better, and you do too. You just have to know where to look for it. Like in back alleys. The Contemporary Art Gallery has set up a nifty drive-thru video installation in its alleyway, where you can simply pull up, point and play. Choose from six mini-movies, each about a “typical Vancouver guy” doing typical Vancouver things (rolling a joint, eating a burger, shot-gunning a beer). Playing between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. all summer, it’s a free hit of culture as you head to Republic for cocktails, or Chambar for dinner with those out-of-town guests.
