french dressing

Fashion milestones: your first bra, your first bottle of perfume, your first formal dress, your first strand of pearls. Reached them? Good girl.

Now it’s time to turn the corner on fashion classics by acquiring your first Hermès scarf.

And if you’re still waiting for some prince charming to drop the $400 on your perfect square of French silk, get going sister.

Now that Vancouver has its first, freestanding Hermès store, you can march right in yourself and pick up one of their twillies, a slip of a scarf that is just $150 but bears the weighty couturier’s vaunted label and whimsical prints such as water lillies.

Slip it out of its pretty orange box and tie it to the handle of your bag, twist it around your wrist, or wear it jauntily as a hair band this summer.

And when he asks about your breezy Parisian fashion flare, just reply, “Oh, this old thing?”
