Raise the Rooftop
No penthouse patio to party on, no problem.
 Inspired by outdoor electronic events like Piknik Electronik in Montreal, three East Coast gents have created Rooftop Special—a daytime dance party thrown on the rooftop deck of the Scotiabank Dance Centre. Every second weekend during the late summer, they supply DJs and serve up simple drinks and BBQ, and you bring friends and a willingness to shake your tail.
No shirt, no shoes, also no problem. (We spotted a few bikinis and bare feet in the crowd.)
Next Rooftop Special is this Sunday, August 16, 2009, 3 p.m.-9 p.m., 7th floor, 677 Davie St., Vancouver, admission by donation ($5 suggested), www.rooftopspecial.com
