CHAIN OF COMMAND

CHAIN OF COMMAND

Discovering cutting-edge restos is always on our agenda, but sometimes we crave a burger—and not a kale-infused couscous experiment.

With that in mind we headed to Yaletown’s latest sip-and-be-seen spot, Earls. The newest link in the well-established chain, we loved the long communal front table, bricks and wood beam décor, glowing filament lights, super cute wait staff and buzzing atmosphere.

We started with a pound of hot wings ($10.50) washed down with a Black Pom martini, a tasty elixir of vanilla vodka, blackberry liqueur, pomegranate and pineapple juices. The drizzly weather had us in the mood for comfort food, which we satisfied with a heaping plate of hickory back ribs and Cajun chicken served with slaw and potatoes ($28.50), while our dinner date dove into a grilled prawn taco with white cheddar and lime avocado ($9). We barely had room for dessert, but who can resist chocolate sticky pudding ($7.50)? Apparently not us.

And with table after table filled with cute boys, we could be chained here every weekend.
