The new Vancouver-produced documentary Tableland takes you from the inner city gardens of Chicago to the kelp patches of Vancouver Island as you follow raspberry growers, chanterelle foragers, oyster farmers and top chefs (like Victoria’s Peter Zambri) who foster the local larder.
With themed sections on taste, sustainability, the environment and more, here’s a film that’s food for thought.
Tableland premiers at the Vancity Theatre, 1181 Seymour St. (at Davie), Monday December 3, 7 p.m. Tickets ($25) include a local wine and food tasting (Joie, Oyama) and Chow afterparty.
