She Sells Seashells

Attention beachcombers: Leave the molluscs where they lay (they’ll just sit in a bowl anyway), because there’s an easier way to bring the beauty of the beach back with you.

Vancouverite Karen Hendry creates a mold of the unique shells she collects from around the world and casts them in silver so they can be worn forever. Her line of necklaces, Karenjess, includes Australia, Mexico, Hawaii, Tofino and Vancouver, and we hear Costa Rica is on the way.

Now if only she could figure out a fashionable turn for our jar of sand souvenirs.

$108-$162 at Sitka, 1864 W. Fourth Ave., Vancouver, 604-568-9935, www.sitkasurfboards.com
