In the Vancouver-based First Weekend Club, members get a heads up when great Canadian films are about to hit the box office so they can pack the theatres on the critical first weekend ensuring a longer run.

Due to drop tonight is Hamster Cage, which has been called a Woody Allen-ish tragi-comedy about the proverbial embarrassing Uncle and the family havoc he wreaks. Catch it at Fifth Avenue Cinemas with a special appearance by the filmmaker on September 9.
